Hospital Prep School
This
is a course designed to assimilate business people who are unfamiliar with
hospitals into the world of supporting and selling to doctors, nurses and
other healthcare professionals. It includes classroom training as well as
hospital orientation through a Virtual Hospital Tour conducted by clinicians.
Coursework includes:
- Basic physiology primer
- History of healthcare in the US
- Description of hospital departments by patient flow
- In-depth explanation of activity in departments, from clinical areas to biomed to purchasing
- Analysis of hospital purchasing decision processes
- Group Purchasing Organizations, their impact and how to work with them
- Integrated Delivery Networks and how to work with them
- Reimbursement and how it affects purchase decisions
- Administration, how to get there and what to say when you do
